AP Tourism SOP guidelines for Hotel Industry resuming from 8 June 2020

“The Government will definitely look into possible support for the revival of hotel industry in the State” said Special Chief Secretary to Government Sri Rajat Bhargava, who has given full additional charge for Tourism, Culture Archeology and Museums.

Andhra Pradesh Tourism conducted an interactive meeting with stakeholders from Hotel Industry on 4th June 2020 at Hotel Harita Berm Park in Vijayawada. The objective of this meeting was to provide guidelines on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to the hospitality industry, which is resuming from June 8, 2020 in the State and across the country in concern with COVID-19. The meeting was chaired by Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Culture and Youth Advancement Sri Muttamsetti Srinivas Rao.

Addressing to media, Hon’ble Minister said, since past three months the State Tourism is experiencing the challenge of approx Rs. 30 cores of revenue loss. It is the right time to unite and gain back the Glory of Tourism Industry in the State. The state has huge opportunity to experience Temple Tourism, Beach Tourism Eco Tourism for tourists. Tourism Department has a good track record of achievements and tourist growth rate of 21% in receiving Domestic Tourists in 2019.

Further Hon’ble Minister said, the boating operations will also resume soon in the State and Boating Command Control Room operations will be commenced after the inauguration. Hon’ble Chief Minister will inaugurate the Boating Command Control Rooms across 9 locations in the State.

An unprecedented situation, COVID-19 has siverely effected human lifes across the globe, following all the precautionary measures, everyone should move and the Government will definitely provide possible support, he said futher.

District collector Sri Imtiaz said, in due course help line numbers will be shared with Hotel Industry Association. There will be some regulatory action for violating the guidelines and advised Stakeholders to strictly follow the guidelines.

Hon’ble Minister Endowment Sri Vellampalli Srinivas and MLA Sri Malladi Vishnu from Vijayawada were present in the meeting.
