Who was Ibrahim lodi?
He was the LAST ruler of the Lodi dynasty, which came to power when Ala Ud Din Alam Shah, the last ruler of the
Sayyid dynasty abdicated in favor of Bahlul Khan, an ancestor of Ibrahim Lodi, in 1451.

So who are the Sayyids?
Sayyid dynasty was founded in 1414 by Khizr Khan who was Governor of Multan & Timur’s deputy in India.

Who ruled India before the Sayyids?
The Ilbury dynasty. It was founded by Qutbuddin Aibak in 1206 who first ruled from Lahore & then moved the capital to Delhi. He was
originally a Turkish slave but was bought by Mohammad Ghori & gradually rose to power.

Mohammad Ghori was the Sultan of Ghurid Empire from 1173 – 1206. His rule extended across modern day Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan,
Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Northern India & Bangladesh.

Mahmud of Ghazni.
He was the first independent ruler of the Ghaznavid dynasty that ruled a large part of indian subcontinent from 999AD till 1173AD. He
attacked the small Indian kingdoms 17 times, going back each time but finally firmly establishing Muslim rule in India by defeating the Indian
King Jaipal & later his son Anandpal.

However, Muslims had migrated to India much earlier but only had business & matrimonial ties here.
