Backward class welfare is YSRCP priority : Mla Sudhakar Babu

Amaravati, June 20: The YSRCP government has been giving top priority to strengthen the financial condition of SC, ST, BC, and Minorities for which it has released Rs 42,000 crore directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

Speaking to media here on Saturday, YSRCP MLA TJR Sudhakar Babu said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken a courageous decision for the welfare of the people despite several financial constraints and the Corona pandemic and released funds for the welfare of the weavers. Each family of the weavers has been given Rs 24,000 as part of YSR Nethanna Nestham programme as a follow up action to the scheme launched last year in Dharmavaram, he said.

The previous TDP government had never cared for the welfare of the people and wasted crores of rupees of public money on ministers’ travel expenses, their stay in resorts and hotels. Reducing the unnecessary financial burden on the state government, Jagan Mohan Reddy is keen on taking every step at this time of financial crisis created by TDP to ameliorate the lot of the weaker sections, he added.

Amid lockdown, the Chief Minister has kept his word and released the second installment amount to handloom weavers under YSR Nethanna Nestham. Unlike the previous TDP government that has tried to stop releasing funds for the welfare schemes, the YSRCP government has not compromised in delivering the welfare schemes even during tough times, he said.

Out of fear of extinction, the TDP is trying to prove its political existence by playing dirty politics, he said. Chadrababu Naidu, who claims to have 40 years of political experience, is unfit to face the YSRCP majority in the public, he said and added that the zoom app meetings being conducted by Naidu who is sitting in a different state far away from the ground reality, would be of no use.
