The Supreme Court has granted a petition filed by parents’ associations in eight states, seeking that schools should not be allowed to charge fees during the lockout period.
The petition called on the state governments to set up a fee regulatory body for private schools, not to deprive any students of education due to non-payment of fees, and to ban online classes in schools. Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, Orissa, Maharashtra etc. The petition is filed in Parents’ organizations in the state have come together and filed a case in the Supreme Court.
Parents should not pay school fees till Supreme Court rules If the school is depriving the students from education due to non-payment of fees, then contact the ‘Pa’ Action Committee.
