Government of Andhra Pradesh as part of its outreach efforts to attract global companies to the state has organized an interactive webinar “Destination – Andhra Pradesh” in coordination with USIBC and Indian Mission in Washington DC.
As companies explore diversifying supply chains and capitalizing on new growth possibilities in the aftermath of the onset of the global pandemic the webinar has helped companies gain an understanding on investment opportunities, ease of doing business in the state and how the government is facilitating business continuity for industries in the state.
Dr Manoj Mohapatra, Minister for Commerce, Indian Embassy, Washington DC has emphasised on the opportunity for India as global supply chains realign due to geographical and geopolitical considerations. He has highlighted the Government of India’s medical diplomacy in clearing Hydroxychloroquine supplies from India to the US. While this has created a necessary momentum in the interest of India, it was emphasized that country needs to capitalize on this limited window of opportunity to position itself as the preferred destination for future industrial growth and investments.
Sri M Goutham Reddy, Honourable Minister for Investments, Industries, Commerce, Information Technology and Skill Development & Training delivered his opening remarks emphasising the special nature of US India relationship. The minister has invited the US companies to take part in the Indian growth story and assured complete support for a seamless business experience. The minister has interacted with C-suite executives of US-based companies and explained the Andhra Pradesh Advantage in the hour-long session.
Sri Karikal Valaven Special Chief Secretary to the Government has harped on the transparent governance and decisive leadership along with the geographic advantages and industrial infrastructure which make Andhra Pradesh an attractive destination in India.
Sri Srikanth N, Secretary Energy has elaborated on the business opportunities in the Energy and Power sector. He invited companies to take part in the 10GW solar energy generation substation modernization and grid up-gradation opportunities.
Sri JVN Subramanyam, CEO, APEDB and Director, Industries has presented on the Andhra Pradesh giving an overview about the opportunities in the state covering the state’s efforts to improve infrastructure, healthcare, education and skill development.
