Hyderabad, Oct 14::AICC secretary and congress former lagislator,Vamshi Chand Reddy Speaking to the media on Wednesday at Gandhi Bhavan, has demanded the government should to help the poor students belonging to the foward caste by enabling EWS(Economically Weaker Section) reservation, keeping in mind their financial status
He recalled of the scholarships awarded to the poor students who wished to pursue their higher education, in 2008 during YSR’s regime. With the EWS reservation, 10 percent of new seats would be created and ultimately 60000 seats across the state will be alloted. Because of the govt criminal negligence and irresponsibility, thousands of students have lost their opportunity of entry for the year 2020-21.
The EWS reservation was not implemented in entrances like Dosth, Polytechnic, ECET due to the non-issue of GO in this regard.
It is strange that the applications for EAMCET, ECET have an EWS option but is not implemented during the admissions, he said. Around 40000 students are all prepared up with their EWS certificates and close to 20000 foward caste students will suffer a big deal if they cannot get EWS in the EAMCET admissions.
The admission process foEAMCET-2020 will be completed by oct 22, so the govt should respond quickly and issue a G.O for 10 percent EWS reservation without disrupting the existing reservations, he said.
