Have you heard that the drainage pattern in the Deccan region is chaotic?

This map will explain what that means.

Kabeer in his attempt to understand (and help us understand), this terrain better, adds a relief map to the set of maps we shared in our earlier post.
As someone from the Gangetic plains, he finds the presence of so many water bodies on an uneven topography crazy.
This map enabled him as it will enable the rest of us to understand at least one factor responsible for the current disaster in the city and the region.

Please note that the grey lines are the major roads, blue lines are the water channels which join the Musi river .flowing through the middle. As the shade turns from green to red, the elevation of the land gets higher. Do zoom in on the lakes.
