Hyderabad, June 25::Telangana IPS officer Vinay Kumar Singh resigns He sent his resignation letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. VK Singh is currently the director of Telangana Police Academy. However, VK Singh has been unhappy with the Telangana government over his promotion for the past few years.
On May 21, Vinay Kumar Singh wrote a letter to Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on his letterhead regarding his promotion. A copy of the letter has also been sent to CM KCR. In the letter, VK Singh appealed to the government to give him promotion as DGP and that he has all the qualifications. In the letter, he said he was prepared to resign if the government deemed it lacking the eligibility requirements for promotion.
In his letter, VK Singh told the government that he was eligible for the post of DGP as a senior IPS officer who had served for 33 years as per rules. He accused the Telangana government of wasting money for the police academy. Also, in the past, VK Singh criticized the police academy for not being of great use. These comments have sparked offense in the police department
