Idupulapaya (YSR Kadapa dist), July 8: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy unveiled the statue of his father and former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajashekar Reddy and further laid foundation stones for various developmental projects at IIIT-RK Valley here on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister inaugurated a new academic block in IIIT_RK Valley campus which was built with an estimated cost of Rs 139.83 Crore. The new academic block houses seven engineering departments along with the library, student activity centre and canteen facilities.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated three solar power plants with 1MW production capacity by each plant. Through these solar power units, the institution is likely to save Rs 1.51 Crore every year on power charges.
Meanwhile, CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy laid a foundation stone for the construction of a computer centre, which would house four computer labs and two lecture halls. With an estimated budget of Rs 10.10 Crore, this computer centre will be established in 0.75 acres and with a seating capacity of 616.
In addition to this, the Chief Minister also laid a foundation stone for the construction of Dr YSR Auditorium. In an area of six acres, with 1700 seating capacity and with an expenditure of Rs 40 Crores, a two-storeyed auditorium with world-class facilities will be constructed.
