Public healthcare has completely collapsed: Bandulal

Hyderabad, September 6: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC)  secretary and  Bandulal Jamalpur  alleged that the public healthcare system in Telangana has completely collapsed and for the same reason, the State Government was unable to control the Covid-19 situation.

He was speaking to media persons at his langer house office on the completion of Congress Legislature Party leader Bhatti Vikramarka’s 10-day State tour of government hospitals. Describing the public healthcare condition as ‘pathetic’, he said that there was a huge shortage of doctors, nurses and other para-medical staff. He said all public hospitals treating Covid-19 patients in the State did not have adequate staff. The sanctioned posts of doctors, nurses and other staff were not filled and the existing staff was not provided required infrastructure and support to treat the Covid-19 patients.

Bandulalsaid that the TRS Government was still trying to ‘manage’ Covid-19 situation by tampering with the statistics and creating the illusion of beating the disease. He said the Telangana High Court has pointed out the lapses in the public healthcare system on multiple occasions during the pandemic situation. However, the State Government did not take any measures to plug the loopholes. Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao did not even follow the suggestions made by Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan and treated those advises as political criticism.

The TPCC  Secretary said that the first case of Covid-19 was registered in Telangana in the month of March. Even after six months, the State Government did not improve testing facilities. He said that the World Health Organisation’s norm of ‘Track, Test & Treat’ was not followed in Telangana which led to the spread of Coronavirus in almost all areas of the State. He said it was due to the  criminal negligent attitude of KCR Govt that Covid-19 has spread to even small villages and hamlets.
Bandulal alleged that the public healthcare system was deliberately destroyed so as to benefit the private hospitals. He asked Health Minister Eatala Rajender to clarify on the announcement of the State Government taking over 50 percent of  Covid beds in private hospitals. He said that the Health Minister should name the private hospitals whose 50 Percent  beds were acquired and at what cost. He alleged that CM KCR and Health Minister Rajender were looting the people in the name of Covid Treatment.

The TPCC  secretary also slammed Eatala Rajender for the death of one Praveen Yadav, a DTP Operator in Huzurabad Govt Hospital. He alleged that the employee was forced to fudge hospital’s statistics to show ceaserean deliveries as natural births. On refusal, he was dismissed from service and implicated in a false case. He was allegedly subjected to third degree torture by the police. He was Praveen Yadav was allegedly electrocuted which consequently led to his death. He said the role of Etala Rajender in Praveen Yadav’s death would be exposed if the Director General of Police orders a fair probe.Bandulal  praised CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka for visiting the Covid-19 public hospitals across Telangana State for 10 days.
