• TPCC Treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy demands the police
Hyderabad, October 2: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy on Thursday demanded the police to punish the accused in the rape and murder of a minor in the limits of Moinabad Police Station, on September 24, like in Disha case.
Narayana Reddy made this demand as it has been speculated that the ruling party leaders have been trying to protect the accused in the case by hiding the facts. He said if Cyberabad Police Commissionerate commissioner VC Sajjanar was sincere he should deal with the accused like in Disha case.
He said that on September 24 a minor was raped and murdered in Himayat Sagar village under the limits of Moinabad Police Station. Sister of the victim has lodged a complaint with the Moinabad police on the next day. Due to poor financial conditions, the victim and her elder sister were working as maids in the house of Madhu Yadav, leader of Telangana Rashtra Samithi, at Himayathnagar village for the last 4 years. Madhu Yadav used to give their monthly salary to the victim’s father.
Gudur Narayana Reddy said that there was a rowdy sheet on Madhu Yadav in the police station and he was involved in few cases. The accused used to come home drunk and rape the victim. Narayana Reddy said that on the fateful night the accused has taken the victim to the second floor of the house. The victim was found hanging by neck to the ceiling on the next day.
The police registered a suicide case first and then altered it to rape and murder on the demand of the Congress leaders as they have complained that the girl was murdered by the TRS leader.
The TPCC treasurer said that though a case has been filed on Madhu Yadav, attempts have been made to protect him. He accused that the Aadhar card of the victim was taken away from the family of her to hide her age.
Narayana Reddy said according to the complainant, the victim was a minor. TRS leaders are trying to protect the accused from booking him under crime against juvenile. He said that the police altered the case only after there was a hue and cry.
He said that a case has been booked against Madhu Yadav under Nirbhaya section. However, there are doubts that the TRS leaders may influence the police and try to water down the case.
He said that it seems to him that commissioner of Cyberabad Police Commissionerate VC Sajjanar do not want to act in this case like in Disha case as the accused belongs to ruling party. He reminded that the accused in Disha case have been encountered after few days of their arrest.
The Congress senior leader said that showing lenience towards the ruling party leaders amounts to discrimination towards the accused in the cases on the lines of party affiliations and religion.
He demanded that the suitable compensation should be given to the victim’s family and justice should be done to them.
He pointed out that there was rise in the incidents of highhanded behavior of leaders of ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the past few months. Citing several incidents in which TRS leaders have acted in highhanded manner, he said Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) officials lodged a complaint with Banjara Hills’ police against ruling party MLA and his followers for obstructing them from handing over the land documents to the owner who had purchased the land in auction conducted by the Bank. The MLA claimed that the land belonged to the government and not to any private individual.
He said that a video clip has gone viral in which it was seen that a man claiming to be the PA of IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao had threatened and abused doctors of a hospital.
In June, this year, another video clip also went viral in which another MLA had allegedly threatened and obstructed the Kukatpally Revenue Department officials from discharging their duties of safeguarding a water body.
Serilingampally TRS corporator R Nagender Yadav has assaulted a woman during an argument over parking on September 13. Yadav allegedly assaulted the woman after she asked him to move his car parked on the road.
The Congress leader said that this clearly shows the arrogant and unruly behavior of TRS leaders with the support of their bosses. The TRS leaders who were accused should be punished stringently so that the people have confidence in the rule of law.
