TDP atrocities against women condemned : YSRCP Leader Padmaja

Amaravati, June 20: YSRCP official spokesperson Naramalli Padmaja said that TDP leaders have no respect for women, while referring to TDP leader Ayyanna Patrudu’s unruly behaviour against a woman government officer.
Speaking to the media here on Saturday, she said it was unbecoming of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu to support Ayyanna Patrudu who used abusive words against a woman officer from Narsipatnam municipal commissioner office and warned to undress her while she was on duty.

Instead of apologizing on behalf of his party member for the incident, Naidu had complained to the Governor alleging that the YSRCP government was taking political revenge by imposing charges on TDP leaders. It was unfortunate that Naidu was sidelining the issue and thereby hurting the sentiments of women and disrespecting them, she said.

Padmaja said people were aware of TDP leaders’ behaviour and hence restricted them to only 23 seats in the Assembly elections. Now, the Rajya Sabha election results have proved that the TDP has lost its credibility in the state, she said. YSRCP has no interest in political vengeance against the TDP which is on the verge of extinction, she added.

Unlike the TDP government, YSRCP has enormous respect and gratitude for women. Several schemes have been implemented by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy exclusively for women like the Disha Act, Amma Vodi and zero per cent interest loans, she said.

She recalled various incidents that had taken place during TDP tenure such as TDP leader Chintamaneni Prabhakar’s atrocities against woman MRO Vanajakshi and Atchennaidu harassing a woman IAS officer. TDP is now paying for all those crimes committed earlier. it has no political future in the state and will vanish soon. YSRCP government would not spare those involved in atrocities against women, she said.
