Amaravati, June 18: TDP’s unruly acts created an appalling situation in the Legislative Council as it has misused its majority in the Council, said Minister for Irrigation Anil Kumar Yadav.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Minister Anil Kumar condemned the attack on Endowments Minister Vellampalli Srinivas by TDP members for asking not to shoot videos or take pictures in the Council and now the TDP is portraying the Minister as having attacked the TDP members. The series of incidents that took place in the Council on Thursday were awful and against the Council rules, he added.
While the government was firm on approving the Appropriation Bill as soon as possible amid COVID-19 to pay salaries to the employees, the TDP has tried to break the traditional way of approving it. TDP leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu misused his party’s majority in the Council and misguided the Council Chairman to act according to their wishes, the Minister said.
Further, they tried to blame the Ministers by misleading the comments to be body shaming. TDP has no guts to face the YSRCP government and trying to irk the government with its majority in the Council, said the Minister.
Yanamala has directly said that it is TDP’s wish to act in the Council as it has a majority. Everything is on the record and it is clear that the TDP leaders have intentionally dragged Rule 90 into the scene to halt the bills and delay salary payment to the employees, he added.
Appropriation Bill will be approved at the end of the session as per the tradition for the past several years, said the Minister. But the TDP tried to defame the government by giving a go-by to the tradition. The TDP objective is to create hurdles for everything the government is trying to implement for the welfare of the people, he said.
Regarding the TDP leaders allegations that the Ministers used unparliamentary words in the Council, the Minister challenged the TDP leaders to prove it.
