More than 25 lakh students and their families are at risk:
TPCC secretary jamalpur Bandulal
Allege that the BJP government at the Center and the TRS government in Telangana were playing with the lives of millions students by conducting entrance examinations.
Along with Mujib sabir ali ,Mamidi Hari Krishna joint Entrance Examinations (JEE), A protest was held at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday demanding postponement of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).
The Congress leaders demanded that a dharna be held in front of central government offices as per the directions of the All India Congress Committee (AICC). However, police deployed a large number of troops at the gates of the Gandhi Bhavan, the TPCC headquarters in Nampally, to block the Congress leaders.
On the protest Uttam Kumar Reddy said that it was the responsibility of the Central Government to conduct JEE and NEET tests amid the corona virus epidemic.
He said covid-19 cases were at a maximum in almost all the states. He said the highest number of 77,266 covid-19 positive cases was registered in the country in a single day on Friday. Similarly, nearly 3,000 cases have been coming in every day in Telangana since last week. In a situation where Covid-19 has spread to the community level, he questioned whether the Prime Minister at the Center, Narendra Modi government, intends to risk the lives of nearly 25 lakhs students and their families by conducting JEE and NEET examinations.
Similarly, in silence, accepting the decision taken by the government, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao registered for JEE and almost 1.20 million people in need while at the expense of the lives of the students, he said.
Bandulal said the central government should postpone the exams to a anotherdate. He said there is nothing more important than the lives of students.
On February 16, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi warned that the Modi government had failed to bring down Covid-19 in a timely manner. It imposed an unplanned lockdown after March 22 and said it had been extended several times until the 1st. Can PM Modi and CM KCR guarantee that none of the students attending for JEE and NEET and their family members will be infected with the disease as Prime Minister Modi does not have the foresight and ability to perceive the threat?
He said. There are claims that it is formulating strict guidelines for conducting tests. But tomorrow they blame the students and their parents if anything goes wrong. They have never been held accountable and will continue to do so in the future. ”
The TPCC president said that due to lack of public transport, the candidates would face a lot of difficulties in getting to the examination centers and back to their homes. “The BJP government is trying to ruin the lives of students under the guise of saving their one academic year. Heaven will not fall if the exams are postponed for another one or two months till the covid-19 situation is brought under control,” he said.
He said the Congress party would continue its agitation till the government postpones the JEE and NEET exams to the last date.
