Hyderabad, July28::T’gana NSUI Chief Balmoori Venkat along with the NSUI State Committe submitted around 12000 letters to T’gana State Human Rights Commission by the students of 31 Districts of T’gana.
The letters were stating requests from the students to cancel all courses examinations and promote students to the next academic year.
While addressing the media NSUI chief Balmoori Venkat said that the
As per UGC Guidelines to conduct the exams during this health emergency is a violation of Students’ Rightsto .He also stated that the government wants to conduct exams amidst the covid crisis but recently there has been a rapid surge in number of Covid-19 cases. Many parts of the country is wrestling with high number of corona cases thus making it unsafe for students to travel.
Being in community transmission stage nobody knows who’s affected with the dreadful virus. Also, another factor that holds a prime importance is public transport as it is not working at this juncture and it could serve as a potential hub for the spread of virus. Universities, colleges and schools are conducting online classes. Conducting online classes is discriminatory to the marginalised sections of the society.
There is a digital disparity in the country and a major section of the society doesn’t have access to digital infrastructure. The digital infrastructure is primordial in the rural and semi-urban regions of our country.Another point that was added is that the country is not just facing a health emergency but also facing a economic crisis due to unplanned nationwide lockdown.
In such times the educational institutions are demanding a hectic fee which is additional financial burden and miseries to lives of people. So,in this criris students of all districts from T’gana submitted us their problems written in letters and we are on behalf of T’gana NSUI submitted the letters to State Human Rights Commision Today.
